"Yes. Thank you!"
"You're a good boy, Howard. Now run along."
Reading by the glow of the dying embers, I wish I'd paid more attention. I would have known what to do when the shimmering rift appeared like a luminescent watery egg, would not have reached into the void and grasped the warm tentacles that reached for me.
But it was so cute...
